The World Bank Group is one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for development. Its primary focus is to fight against poverty and improve the living standards of people in the developing world, one of the largest pools of development professionals in the world, working hard to support Indonesia's development program.
Institution building and governance driven engagement in Indonesia is a key part of World Bank's Country Partnership Strategy. As part of its ongoing efforts to support a good governance in Indonesia, World Bank Jakarta requires the services of a Senior Operations Officer for the Governance & Anti Corruption (GAC) team.

SENIOR OPERATIONS OFFICER, GOVERNANCE & ANTI CORRUPTION #121646 


The Senior Operations Officer is expected to:
1. Work on Indonesia Governance and Anti Corruption Strategy: provide input on the governance challenges and propose interventions. SOO is also expected to contribute to the Country Partnership Strategy and advise the Bank on emerging governance issues; this position will also lead as a focal point n interacting and liaising with sectors, units and individuals at the Bank working on governance themes and topics.
2. For Governance and Anti Corruption in Projects: lead efforts to identify and develop opportunities to improve sector and client's governance systems, promote better project management practices and mitigate fraud and corruption risks.
3. In working with accountability institutions: to lead the work supporting accountability institutions such as but not limited to, the Anti Corruption Commission (KPK), Attorney General's Office, Supreme Court, Financial Intelligence Unit (PPATK), the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Judicial Commission, Ombudsman, Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security affairs (Kemenkopolhukam), UKP4, BPK, BPKP and other agencies relevant to undertaking judicial reform.
4. In partnership in anti corruption to liaise with donors working in the field of governance and anti corruption, and to strengthen partnerships with civil society organizations such as NGOs, media, research institutions or think tanks, academia and other groups to strengthen demand for better governance.

Selection Criteria:
- Minimum masters' degree in a relevant field (accounting, communications, law, politics, urban development, social sciences, economics).
- At least fifteen years full-time work experience in a field related to international development or governance and anti-corruption. Previous experience working with Indonesian government agencies, preferably in conjunction with World Bank or other donor funded projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the capacity to influence across organizational and multicultural boundaries as well as demonstrated a strong integrity, and is highly visible and recognized for integrity
- Familiarity with and, ideally, direct experience on anti-corruption issues and programs.
- Experience with government, civil society and the media.
- Demonstrated high quality verbal and written communications skills, in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Based in Jakarta for a twoyear term appointment with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will lead a small team that focuses on supporting the country office's engagement in Governance.
